โครงเรื่อง: ความจริง ๗ ประการูในการเป็นมิตรกับพระเจ้า

The 7 truths about being friend with God:

1. ท่านทั้งหลายรู้ว่าการเป็นมิตรกับโลกนั้นคือการเป็นศัตรูกับพระเจ้า? (๔)

Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? (4)

2. พระเจ้าทรงต่อสู้คนที่หยิ่งจองหองแต่ประทานพระคุณแก่คนที่ถ่อมใจ(๖)

But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says, God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. (6)

3. พวกท่านจงนอบน้อมต่อพระเจ้า จงต่อสู้กับมารแล้วมันจะหนีท่านไป (๗)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (7) 

4. พวกท่านจงเข้าใกล้พระเจ้า แล้วพระองค์จะเสด็จเข้ามาใกล้ท่าน (๘)

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. (8)

5. พวกคนบาปเอ๋ย จงชำระมือให้สะอาด (๘)

Cleanse your hands, you sinners…. (8)

6. คนสองใจ จงชำระใจให้บริสุทธิ์ (๘)

And purify your hearts, you double-minded. (8)

7. จงเป็นทุกข์ โศกเศร้า และร้องไห้ ให้เสียงหัวเราะของพวกท่านกลายเป็นความโศกเศร้า และความชื่นชมยินดีกลายเป็นความเศร้าสลด พวกท่านจงถ่อมใจลงต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า แล้วพระองค์จะทรงยกชูท่าน (๙-๑๐)

Lament and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.(9-10)
