กล่าวนำ Introduction:

โครงเรื่อง:   คำสอน ๗ ประการในเรื่องผู้มีอำนาจ

                   The 7 teachings about authority:

1. ให้ยอมอยู่ใต้อำนาจของผู้ที่มีอำนาจปกครอง (๑)

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities…. (1)

2. ไม่มีอำนาจใดเลยที่มิได้มาจากพระเจ้า (๑)

For there is no authority except from God….. (1)

3. ผู้ที่มีอำนาจนั้นพระเจ้าทรงแต่งตั้งขึ้น (๑)

And those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. (1)

4. ผู้ที่ขัดขืนจะถูกพิพากษาลงโทษ (๒)

Therefore whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. (2)

5. ผู้ครอบครองไม่น่ากลัวสำหรับผู้ประพฤติดี แต่น่ากลัวสำหรับผู้ประพฤติชั่ว(๓)

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. (3)

6. ผู้ครอบครองนั้นเป็นผู้รับใช้ของพระเจ้าเพื่อให้ประโยชน์แก่ท่าน (๔)

For it is God’s servant for your good. (4)

7. จงให้แก่ทุกคนตามที่เขาควรจะได้รับ (๗)

Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.(7)
